Five Recent Octavos
by Lee & Dianne Turner/ASCAP Demo cassette TSD-1001 contains the
following 5
selections:
- Just as I
Am TSO-2014 - SATB. Lee's new setting for this beloved hymn text
has the feel of a beautiful Irish tune. The poignant, haunting melody
gives new life to these familiar words. The arrangement is easy to
sing. Lee adds a final stanza of commitment based upon Jesus' words
in Luke 10:17: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy
heart, and . . ."
- This Is the
Day TSO-2015 - SATB. A joyful setting of the words in Psalm 118:24.
The beautiful middle section slows down and uses two familiar Scriptures:
"I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the house
of the Lord," and "Surely the Lord is in this place. . ."
In addition to singing it as an anthem, the first and middle sections
can be used separately as calls to worship.
- The Work of
Christmas TSO-2016 - SATB. This one is for Christmas, or right
after Christmas - Epiphany. The moving text by Dr. Howard Thurman
reminds us that it is after the angels, the star, the kings and shepherds
are gone that the real work of Christmas begins. Things like finding,
healing, feeding, rebuilding and the like.It gives perspective to
our celebration.
- Jesus Is Passing
By TSO-2018 - SATB. Dianne's words recall the wonderful things
that happen when Jesus passes by: blind eyes open, deaf ears hear,
dead tongues speak, children laugh, the hungry are fed, still legs
walk. Beautifully set to a moving tune by Lee. One of the favorites
from The Last Amen! Accompaniment track available (TSCT-98).
- I Know Whom
I Have Believed TSO-2017 - SATB. Your choir will love Lee's beautiful,
singable new tune for this old hymn. It's simple -- can be learned
in a couple of rehearsals -- and ranges are comfortable for all parts.
Great for your adults or senior adults.
